Robert Card, who is enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and has an active military ID, is suspected of killing 18 people in a shooting spree last night in Lewiston Maine.
He said he was hearing voices and that he was going to shoot up his training reserve. Commanders with the Army’s Reserve noticed that in mid-July Card was acting “erratically” while the unit was training. Military commanders became concerned about Card’s safety and asked for police to be called at which point he was then taken to the Keller Army Community Hospital for a mental health “evaluation.” He was then released even though he had previously reported hearing voices.
