Juveniles caught with five illegals in car near Laredo after chase, bailout
Two minors were arrested and five illegal aliens apprehended following a dangerous chase on a Texas highway that ended when troopers executed a high-stakes immobilization tactic this week, according to authorities.
The harrowing incident unfolded on Wednesday in Webb County near Laredo.
A Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) trooper was tailing a suspicious sedan in the vicinity of a Border Patrol SUV when the driver suddenly took off.
Footage of the ensuing high-speed pursuit was shared on social media.
The driver careens through an intersection, making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic.
After briefly losing control and sideswiping a utility box, the driver continues onward as a trooper begins to perform a ‘precision immobilization technique,’ otherwise known as a PIT maneuver.
The fleeing vehicle is finally forced to a halt and a male passenger can be seen bailing out into the brush.
“Both juveniles were arrested & charged w/ evading & smuggling. 5 illegal immigrants were located inside the vehicle,” TxDPS spokesman Chris Olivarez explained in a statement.
