Social media users dunked on federal agency for refusing to correctly identify group of people typically committing mass retail theft.

The FBI is facing backlash after a social media post warning of organized retail theft included an image of white women.

The FBI warned high prices were a byproduct of mass-scale retail theft in an X post Monday, however social media users noticed the stock image of two white female shoplifters chosen by the Bureau to represent retail thieves didn’t align with reality.

“Higher prices, dangerous products, and closing businesses. These are just some of the impacts Organized Retail Theft has on everyday Americans,” the FBI’s post stated, with a thumbnail showing a young white woman shoving a purse into her jacket.

On its website, the FBI also included an image of a white man swiping a retail product.

The FBI explains “smash and grabs” and “flash mobs” contribute to the problem, however numerous social media users dunked on the federal agency for refusing to correctly identify the group of people that typically commit those crimes.

Yes, it’s always White women in Burberry in literally every video of retail theft we’ve all seen with our own eyes…

Yeah, nice picture of the suspects FBI. That’s just who is doing it.

I guess all those movies and TV shows about super-smart FBI profilers unveiling the people behind crimes exaggerated a little bit.

I’m not trying to be racist but if Google can’t find a picture or video of a group of teenage White girls looting stores, Why TF is the FBI using it as a visual?https://t.co/UTBM03z7ia

I can see why you didn’t go with a picture from the thousands of CCTV videos of the mass-lootings.

But why aren’t they wearing MAGA hats? I’m pretty sure those are the ones doing all the shoplifting.

The actual looters, rather than those women you choose to inappropriately depict to be politically correct, don’t even bother to hide their loot. They steal out in the open confident that no one will try to stop them and that there’ll be no legal consequences for their crimes.

Many also rejoiced over the return of white people to advertising, yet expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which they were portrayed.

It’s interesting when they choose to use white people in images again 🧐 https://t.co/RkjsGqIh4F

See white people have representation in media

They can be the criminals in ADT commercials OR FBI propaganda https://t.co/t8qhtWEEd1

The Bureau’s inversion of reality is just the latest example of why so many Americans view the federal agency as a joke.
