Left-wing propagandists try to create rift between anti-establishment leaders
A Raw Story article published on Tuesday, led readers to falsely believe Infowars founder Alex Jones labeled X owner Elon Musk a “complete and total fraud.”
The headline, “‘Complete and total fraud’: Alex Jones turns on Elon Musk after he’s ‘massively censored,’” left many people online with the impression Jones has turned against Musk.
“Sad to see folks Elon kindly helped out turning against him. Elon didn’t have to let him back on X. Dude benefited so much and gets mad when ppl don’t watch his stuff. Blames Elon instead,” wrote one X user.
Thankfully, the Community Notes feature of the social media site properly points out, “Alex Jones did not say this.”
Musk responded to the post, asking, “What is Alex Jones complaining about?”
“Elon, this is a fake headline. I never called you a fraud. We are noticing that our banned(dot)video link is blocked on X and our livestreams have been getting flagged as sensitive even though they’re not. Would love for you to look into it as it seems like some of the old Twitter era censorship is resurfacing,” Jones answered.
Jones went on to clarify that he was calling Google a fraud, not Musk or X.
Fake news alert! I did not say @elonmusk is a fraud. I said Google is a fraud. I asked you to look in to why our URLs are getting blocked suddenly on X.

“That headline is trash. I was making a point about how Google started out as a free and open platform and over time became more censorial. Here’s the video,” he explained.

In reality, Jones was only trying to get Musk’s attention so the X team could look into why the Infowars URL Banned.video is not allowed to be posted on X and is even blocked from being shared within private messages.
Jones has also had issues with his live show being posted to his X page each day, with some users getting an error message reading, “This post is unavailable,” instead of seeing the video feed.
The dishonest media is clearly trying to create a feud between Jones and Musk, but it might have actually backfired as the lying Raw Story headline DID get Musk’s attention and now the X team can look into why Banned.video links are being blocked by the platform.
