Texas capital now seeking politicized liberal to lead police

Austin, Texas, is looking for its next chief of police and instead of focusing on skills related to law enforcement and lowering crime, the city is seeking an individual who will bow to the ideology of its far-left local politicians.

From the new APD chief job posting: Should have a “sound understanding of the history of institutional racism in policing” & work to provide public safety services equitably while also advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion, including within APD🤦‍♂️https://t.co/LEabga4jll

The Texas capital is spending $60,000 on a national search for the next Austin Police Department Chief.

In the listing for the job, the city notes it’s looking for someone with at least 10 years of “progressively responsible work in police administration,” and only five years employed as a “bona fide law enforcement officer.”

Candidates with the best shot at the job are those with prior experience working as a police chief in a city with “issues that are similarly complex to those in Austin.”

Basically, you’re a prime candidate if you already have experience running a police force in a big city with high crime.

Probably more important than actually reducing criminal activity, candidates must display a “sound understanding of the history of institutional racism in policing.”

KVUE reports the next police chief will also have to “work to provide public safety services equitably while also advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion, including within APD.”

The new Austin City Manager T.C. Broadnax spoke about the hiring process, saying, “Public safety is of paramount importance, not just to me and the Mayor and City Council, but to Austin as a whole. My commitment to this community is to find the absolute best candidate for this critical role. I want to ensure that I bring forward someone who will build trust and foster a culture of transparency and accountability.”

Whoever is hired will have their hands tied as Austin’s leftist District Attorney lets criminals off in many instances as seen in blue cities across the country.
