The U.S. has not planned to attack Canada for almost 100 years, ever since the U.S. military’s War Plan Red didn’t go operational. That war plan was expected to be triggered over trade disputes with the U.K. Interestingly, the current hostilities between the U.S. and Canada come as trade disputes are once again arising between these powers.
