One of many sudden collapses caught on live TV since the rollout of the COVID vaccine.
An honor guard suddenly collapsed in front of a live television audience next to the casket of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on Monday.
Shocking video shows the guard begin to lose his footing as a colleague tries to steady him before he goes slack and collapses in his colleague’s arms.

Another honor guard stepped in to fill his post as others rendered aid to the fallen soldier.
The honor guard had been standing in the front of the late Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court who is lying in repose in the court’s Great Hall.
From NBC News:
O’Connor, a savvy consensus builder who was the first woman to serve on the court, died Dec. 1 at the age of 93.
Her body will lie in repose in the Supreme Court’s Great Hall all day Monday.
O’Connor’s casket arrived at the court at around 9:30 a.m., and Supreme Court police officers carried it into the building.
Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff were among those who visited the court while the casket was on display.
Earlier, justices and family members honored O’Connor during a ceremony next to her casket, with Justice Sonia Sotomayor calling her a “life role model.” Sotomayor noted that the late former justice was enthusiastic about bringing the Supreme Court judges together for lunches, dinners and barbecues, movies and theater, and even visits to museums.
The cause of the honor guard’s sudden collapse remains unclear, but given the frequency of performers, athletes, news anchors and government officials seen collapsing on live TV since 2021, it may not be such a mystery.
