Disney has tapped a woke director for the next film in the Star Wars franchise who once said she loves to “make men uncomfortable.”
Pakistani-Canadian director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy told CNN that The Jedi Order, her upcoming sequel to The Rise of Skywalker set for release in 2026, will be a feminist project.
“I’m very thrilled about the project because I feel what we’re about to create is something very special. And we’re in 2024 now, and it’s about time that we had a woman come forward to shape a story in a galaxy far, far away,” she said.

Obaid-Chinoy in 2015 said she “enjoys making men uncomfortable.”
“I like to make men uncomfortable. I enjoy making men uncomfortable,” she told Jon Stewart.

“It is important to be able to look into the eyes of a man and say, I am here, and recognize that, and recognize that I am working to bring something that makes you uncomfortable, and it should make you uncomfortable.”
“And it’s only when you’re uncomfortable, when you’re shifty, when you have to have difficult conversations that you will perhaps look at yourself in the mirror and not like the reflection and then say, maybe, there is something wrong with the way I think or maybe there is something wrong with the way I am addressing this issue,” she added.
Obaid-Chinoy’s previous works include animated features, documentaries, a few episodes of the Disney+ miniseries Ms. Marvel, and the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels.
Notably, the last four Star Wars films featured women as the lead characters.
The latest trilogy was also directed by Rian Johnson, who said in 2019, “If someone’s responding to diversity negatively, fuck them.”
And of course, the head of LucasFilm is also devout feminist Kathleen Kennedy, whose decision to send Star Wars into a downward spiral of wokeism and DEI worship was ridiculed by comedy juggernaut South Park in November.
Breitbart’s John Nolte also had biting criticism for Disney’s new director:
No one is asking for a feminist Star Wars movie. Feminists aren’t even asking for a feminist Star Wars movie. We have already had four Star Wars movies led by a female — and three of them sucked. What the fans are asking for is a return to fun, adventure, escapism — escape from the real world.
But Disney CEO Bob Iger and Kathleen “Failing Upwards Thanks To My Vag” Kennedy hate us too much even to consider making us happy.
The point of making these films is no longer about making money or making audiences happy — it’s about forcing progressive and woke ideology into the popular culture.
