Former Fake News kingpin now wants to help set the agenda and policies in the New Jersey school system — what could possibly go wrong?
Former CNN correspondent Brian Stelter is running for a seat on a school board in New Jersey — as a Republican no less.
How many New Jersey residents will actually believe Stelter is a Republican given his storied history at CNN as a Democrat talking head?
From BNN News:
The Unlikely Candidate: Brian Stelter’s New Ambition
Once a familiar face on CNN‘s ‘Reliable Sources’, Brian Stelter finds himself at the heart of a local school board election in Readington Township. A registered Republican since November 2022, Stelter’s candidacy has stirred the pot among local party members, bringing national attention to a typically low-key affair. His journey from media critic to aspiring school board member underscores a broader narrative about the fluidity of career paths and the intersection of media, politics, and education.
As the last several years have revealed, school boards are the new havens for political activism.
Whether it be advocacy for the LGBTQ agenda in classrooms or for COVID hysteria, the left has caused a lot of problems on school boards.
Stelter was fired from CNN in 2022 after the network cancelled his show Reliable Sources, where he then landed a media fellowship at Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy to work on “threats to democracy.”
“These discussions with media leaders, policy makers, politicians, and Kennedy School students, fellows, and faculty will help deepen public and scholarly understanding about the current state of the information ecosystem and its impacts on democratic governance,” the school said in an announcement.
If there’s one thing Stelter should avoid, it’s any kind of leadership position involving education.
