So much for the party of freedom and limited government.
Despite former President Donald Trump’s courageous attempt to earn the Libertarian Party’s support for president, the party originally associated with Ron Paul’s freedom revolution picked a nominee who’s previously backed authoritarian leftist policies including mask mandates and open borders.
On Sunday, the Libertarian Party announced it had chosen candidate Chase Oliver, notorious for spoiling the 2022 Georgia Senate race where he earned enough votes to force a run-off between Republican Herschel Walker and Democrat Raphael Warnock, the latter of whom ended up winning the seat.
While Oliver claims to align with the traditional wing of the Libertarian party, social media posts show he supports far-left policies.

For example, Oliver at one point ordered guests to wear masks during a Thanksgiving celebration, saying, “Wear a mask when not eating, Space yourself accordingly.”

In other posts, Oliver also espoused support for “trans” indoctrination of children, and for biological men participating in women’s sports.
Oliver, a staunch LGBTQ+ ally, also previously stated he has no problem with grown men dressed as drag queens reading books to children.

The Libertarian Party presidential candidate has also claimed America would be better off surrendering national sovereignty and having open borders.
Earlier this year Chase Oliver, the Libertarian Party Nominee, went to the border to advocate for open borders.

Ahead of Oliver’s nomination, former President Donald Trump made history as the first president to appear at the Libertarian National Convention, telling Libertarians to cast their vote for him if they wanted to defeat Joe Biden and the Democrats’ destructive anti-America policies.
“Only do that if you want to win,” Trump advised. “If you want to lose, don’t do that. Keep getting your three percent every four years.”
