The paid exclusive areas contain content that comes with a financial obligation, either to operate in the case of live networked events using paid services etc. all other areas that we run on the server that doesn't cost 'extra', is open to everyone. You can create comments, reply on all posts, and commentary in the public forums. Some forums will be limited access depending on the Moderator and may secure their forum for a particular group. You can join groups and take part in all non-private social activities.  Creating Groups requires the Tier 1 Supporter subscription, which in turn comes with member management and a bunch of headaches that cost money.
