‘We’re not doing our regular missions where we’re out there looking for the bad guys,’ says director of Air Marshal National Council.

Air marshals who silently patrol the friendly skies aboard domestic commercial air flights haven’t been performing that task and are instead following people who visited DC during the Jan. 6 protest.

That’s according to Sonya Labosco, director of the Air Marshal National Council, who told Fox News this week that the federal agency has been ordered by the TSA to follow anyone who visited DC during the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol — ANYONE.

If you did nothing wrong, flew to dc to protest (your legal right), you’re a terrorist….. #j6 #dc #airmairshalls pic.twitter.com/sGNo3PhSLB

“We’re not flying right now,” Labosco told Fox News host Carley Shimkus.

“The only missions that we’re doing are Quiet Skies missions, and those are missions that are following the January 2021 people,” she said.

“So we’re either on the border for illegal immigrants, or we’re following folks from January 2021. We’re not doing our regular missions where we’re out there looking for the bad guys,” Labosco said, adding, “So right now, on most flights, you’re not going to have air marshals.”

Labosco elaborated on how the “Quiet Skies” missions have used up the agency’s resources by forcing them to monitor people who flew into DC ahead of the Jan. 6 protest, even if they didn’t commit a crime.

“Our primary mission is a little group called Quiet Skies. It’s a mission called Quiet Skies, that we’re following people that flew into the national capital region in January 2021. You did not have to go to the Capitol, or the rally and you’ve been put on a specific list that TSA now has assigned air marshals to follow these people who have not had any type of criminal investigation. They haven’t committed a crime, but yet three years later, we’re following the same individuals day in and day out.

Labosco explained in one instance air marshals were assigned to follow a man who had been placed on the terror watch list for simply going to a funeral near DC that day.

The Air Marshal National Council director went on to say individuals may be aware they’re being followed because they’re singled out for special screening and enhanced security measures at the airport.

Labosco cautioned airplane travelers this busy holiday season will have to look out for themselves, as air marshals won’t be aboard flights.

“I think you should be very concerned. When you’re boarding the aircraft you need to look around to see who you might be able to to ask to help you like a good Samaritan, because you’re kind of you’re on your own,” she said.

“If anything happens, please don’t wait,” she added. “There’s going to be no law enforcement that’s going to help you, so you need to have a plan. Look where the exit doors are. Look where your flight attendants are standing around you. But I would look at other passengers… looking around for a football player, somebody, a pretty big guy, or a couple big guys, in case you need to take action.”

The distressing news affecting holiday travel comes as an explosion Wednesday rocked the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, with the incident currently being investigated by the FBI as a possible terror attack.
